Chocolate Cake Recipe

Instructions:

For the cake:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat with a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until smooth and combined.
  4. Add Hot Liquid: Gradually pour in the boiling water (or hot coffee), mixing until the batter is well combined. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay—it’s supposed to be like that.
  5. Bake: Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
