Baked Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Pinwheels

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Prepare the Eggs:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until fully combined.
    • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are scrambled and just set. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough:

    • Roll out the crescent roll dough onto a flat surface and separate it into individual triangles (as per the package instructions).
    • Use your hands or a rolling pin to slightly press the dough together, making one large rectangle or square (if using puff pastry, unroll it into a rectangle).
  4. Assemble the Pinwheels:

    • Evenly spread the scrambled eggs over the dough.
    • Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and shredded cheese on top of the eggs.
    • Starting from the long edge, carefully roll up the dough into a log or cylinder. If you’re using puff pastry, make sure to roll it tightly to keep everything together.
  5. Slice and Arrange:

    • Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled dough into about 8-10 pinwheels, depending on how large you want them.
    • Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out slightly.
  6. Bake:

    • Bake the pinwheels in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish and Serve:

    • Once baked, remove the pinwheels from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
    • Optionally, garnish with chopped chives or parsley for a fresh, colorful touch.
