Prepare the base:

Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, sealing any seams.

Make the filling:

In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.

Add sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Beat until creamy.

Assemble:

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.

Unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it gently on top, sealing the edges.

Add butter & sugar topping:

Pour melted butter evenly over the top layer.

Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar.

Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crisp on top.

Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours before slicing.

Serve garnished with lemon slices and mint if desired.
